Observations: Christmas day 2023

  • Our lass worked her socks off for the gang and me – Christmas dinner was spot on (yet again – don’t know how she does it) – kept smiling all day – made sure everyone had, “Had enough?” all the time.
  • The sprogs were well fed, happy and content with their day.
  • Games – seriously, you toy makers out there better get your fingers out and invent some decent games to play.
  • Just having “a couple of drinks” at 2.30am then up again at 8am is not a good idea at my age.
  • Playing a music round of a quiz while others are on another phone in the same room, is not a good idea.
  • Funny how email spam drops off in the Christmas holidays?
  • No ebay seller, you have not “posted my order” when it’s ordered on Christmas day!
  • A dash of snow in Scotland does not make a “White Christmas” met office… pissed it down all day here (and everywhere else I suspect).
  • Where are all the new bike riding kids on the street? New escooters, new skateboards, new roller boots, yet not a single kid out playing?
  • Opening presents totally freaks out the dog, she was buzzing around like we were packing up and leaving her…
  • Two insurances auto renewed this month, both shot up by loads of £s without any claims?
  • Every year I say it, “Tidy up before the big day, then you can just enjoy the day!” – Do I ever listen to myself? Nope.
  • Using old crackers from years back, that were found in the attic, is ace.
The jokes are better, the prizes are better and they still crack!
(The fortune telling fish still works after all the years in the dark!)
  • Recyclable crackers with crap prizes? No thanks. Bring back the old style crackers, you’ll make a fortune retailers!
  • Crap American old films are no substitute for good old fashioned, English entertainers.
Get your heads out your arse tv companies and stop using these wannabies that think they know what the public want.
  • I’ve now seen the opening titles to the Grinch, three times on three different channels, in three days.
  • Simplify the TV times and Radio Times, far too much bumph.

To all a goodnight.
